Lindrick's Brace competition had a new name on its winners list as 10 year old Lucia Maturi and partner Luke Jackson won the annual foresomes event with a 40 point score, two ahead of their nearest challengers. The mixed open age event saw over 30 pairings enter with Lucia and 15 year old Yorkshire county player Mia Eales Smith being the only junior competitors.

Luke Jackson who plays on the EuroPro Tour said "it's great to see the juniors getting experience playing in adult competitions so early and really enjoying their golf, it was good fun, winning was just a bonus".

Lucia, a pupil at Sheffield Girls High School and a member of the Yorkshire Ladies U14 development squad became the youngest ever winner in Lindrick's long history when partnering Jamie Sheperd to win the Presidents Cup in 2016 added "getting to play with such good players like Luke and Mia was just fantastic, they gave me a lot of advice and I learned a lot from them. Luke was really good at reading the greens and helping me with the lines, we were fortunate that the putts just dropped."

Presenting the prizes, Lady Captain Suzie Moir added "we are trying very hard to encourage more women to join in and play golf at Lindrick so opening our adult competitions to our juniors seemed a logical move to stimulate more interest. Mia and Lucia are great examples to people who have not played before of just how much fun golf can be. However, we did have a last minute change to the prize table, the traditional 'crate of claret' didn't quite seem appropriate in on this occasion!"
